Course-scoped AI

Course-scoped AI is an AI that only works from your own uploaded course material, like your lectures and notes, instead of the whole internet. So its answers match what your class actually teaches, not some random version from the web.

Most AI tools pull from everything online. That sounds great until the answer uses different terms than your professor, covers stuff you were never assigned, or just makes things up. A course-scoped AI stays inside your material, so what it tells you lines up with your exam.

It works by reading only the files you give it. When you ask something, it searches your own pages and answers from those, usually pointing to the exact spot it found. If the answer is not in your material, a good one tells you that instead of guessing.

Common mistake: thinking it knows less because it is limited. It is the opposite. A narrow, correct answer from your own slides beats a confident wrong one from the open web.

Example

Maya uploads her biochem lecture slides and the professor's notes before an exam. She asks why a reaction needs a certain enzyme, and the AI answers using her professor's exact wording and points to the slide. She checks the slide and it matches, so she trusts it.

How StudyPDF does this

Put it to work on your own course

Bo is course-scoped by design. You upload your lectures, notes, PDFs, even photos and YouTube videos, and Bo only answers from those, linking each answer to the exact page or second so you can check it.

Common questions

Why not just use a normal AI chatbot for studying?

A normal chatbot answers from the whole internet, so it can use different terms than your class, cover things you were never taught, or invent facts. A course-scoped AI stays inside your own material, so the answers match your lectures and your exam. You also get to see where each answer came from.

What if the answer to my question isn't in my material?

A good course-scoped AI tells you it is not there instead of making something up. That is the whole point. It would rather say nothing than hand you a fact your professor never mentioned, which keeps you from studying the wrong thing.
