When do LSAT scores come out?

LSAT scores come out about 3 weeks after your test, on a Wednesday, typically from around 9 a.m. ET. LSAC publishes the exact date for every test: October 2026 scores release on October 28, November 2026 scores on December 2, and January 2027 scores on February 3. Your score is only released if you have completed LSAT Argumentative Writing.

In more detail

LSAC fixes the release date for each administration in advance and lists it in its LSAT dates table. The gap runs about 3 weeks from the first test day. The November 2026 test on November 11 to 14 releases on December 2, and the January 2027 test on January 13 to 16 releases on February 3. Some third-party sites say 3 to 4 weeks, so go by the LSAC date for your own test.

The step that most often delays a score is LSAT Argumentative Writing. A first-time test taker needs a complete, approved writing sample on file before the score can be released or even seen. It opens about a week before test day, for example November 3 for the November 2026 test. LSAC recommends doing it as soon as it opens, so do not leave it for the days after the test.

Your score goes to you and to the law schools you have applied to, and to other schools only if you chose the Candidate Referral Service. With Score Preview you can see your score before you decide whether to keep it. You read your result in your LSAC account on the release date, and the score is on the 120 to 180 scale.

Step by step

  1. 1

Find your test in the LSAC dates table and note the score release date.

  2. 2

Complete LSAT Argumentative Writing as soon as it opens, about a week before test day.

  3. 3

Log in to your LSAC account once before release day, so a forgotten password does not cost you time.

  4. 4

On release day, check your account from around 9 a.m. ET.

  5. 5

Read your score on the 120 to 180 scale and the score report for the question types you missed.

  6. 6

If you want a retake, check the registration deadline of the next test in the same table.

More questions

What time do LSAT scores come out?

Release day is a Wednesday, and scores typically appear from around 9 a.m. ET. Check your LSAC account that morning, and note that the exact time is not a guarantee.

Why haven't I received my LSAT score?

The most common reason is a missing writing sample. LSAC releases a score only when LSAT Argumentative Writing is complete and approved, so check that first.
