In more detail
Section I gives you 70 minutes for 60 questions, about 70 seconds each. They test economic content and reasoning across the whole course, from supply and demand to market failure. Wrong answers are not penalized, so answer every question.
Section II has 1 long question, worth half of the section score, and 2 short questions, worth a quarter each. The 60 minutes include a 10-minute reading period, which leaves about 50 minutes to write. Plan roughly 25 minutes for the long question and 12 for each short one. You may have to make assertions, explain, calculate and draw graphs.
It is a hybrid digital exam: you answer multiple choice and read the free-response questions in Bluebook, but you handwrite your free responses in a paper booklet, graphs included, so practice drawing graphs by hand with labeled axes and curves. In 2027 the exam is on Tuesday, May 4, in Session 2, usually the afternoon. AP Macroeconomics has the same 2 hours 10 minutes, on Friday, May 7. Check-in and instructions come on top, and approved accommodations such as extended time make it longer.

- 6
Score your answers with the official scoring guidelines and review the course units behind your misses.
