A true or false quiz generator that starts from your material
A true or false quiz generator turns a text into short statements and asks you to mark each one as true or false. It is a fast format: you can get through twenty statements in a few minutes and see where your picture of a topic does not hold.
Most generators work on a text you paste in or a topic you type. StudyPDF works from the files you upload, so the statements follow your lectures, and each one comes with an explanation and the page it was written from.
A walkthrough: one lecture, twenty statements
Say you have the slides for a lecture on cellular respiration. You upload them, open New material and choose Quiz. You tick true or false as the only question type, set twenty questions and a medium difficulty, and limit the scope to that lecture.
What you get is a list of statements, such as glycolysis takes place in the mitochondria. You mark it false. The feedback says glycolysis happens in the cytosol and the mitochondria come later, and it opens the slide the statement was written from. Some statements are true as written, others have one detail changed, which is where most mistakes hide.
Each question is tagged with the concepts it tests. The results screen groups your answers by concept, weakest first, so you know what to reread before the next round.
Mix it with other types, or print it with an answer key
True or false works best as a warm-up. In the same form you can add multiple choice, matching, fill in the blank or short answer, so one quiz covers recognition and recall. Tick only true or false if you want a quick check before a lecture or a seminar.
Export the quiz as a PDF worksheet and the statements print as a worksheet you mark by hand. The answer key sits on its own page at the end, so you can hand out the sheets without it. Export to Word instead if you want to reword a statement or add instructions.
What it does not do
A statement has two possible answers, so you can get any single one right by guessing. A score on five statements says little. Use twenty or more, and read the explanations, because that is where the learning is.
True or false also tests recognition, not recall. You never have to produce the term yourself. For that, add short answer questions to the same quiz.
The quiz is only as good as what you upload. A blurry scan gives weaker statements, and a false statement is only useful if it is plausible. The source is shown on every question, so check a statement that looks off against the page before you trust it.
Start with one lecture
Upload one lecture, choose true or false and take the quiz. If the statements fit your course, widen the scope to a unit or the whole course. The same upload also gives you flashcards, a study guide and a practice exam.

Questions and answers
What is a true or false quiz generator?
It is a tool that turns a text into statements you mark as true or false. StudyPDF does this from your own slides, notes and readings, and every statement comes with an explanation and a source.
How do I make true or false questions from my notes?
Upload your slides, notes, readings or photos to StudyPDF, open New material and choose Quiz. Tick true or false as the question type, set the count and difficulty, and pick a scope such as one lecture. The statements are written for you.
Are true or false questions good for studying?
They are good for a fast check of what you recognise and for spotting small errors in your understanding. Because you can guess, use enough statements and read every explanation. For recall, add short answer questions to the same quiz.
4 more questions
Can I mix true or false with other question types?
Yes. A quiz can combine true or false with multiple choice, multi-select, matching, fill in the blank and short answer. You choose the types in the same form where you set the count and difficulty.
Can I print a true or false worksheet with an answer key?
Yes. Export the quiz as a blank PDF worksheet and the answer key comes on its own page at the end. You can also export to Word and edit the sheet before you print it.
Do I see why a statement is false?
Yes. Each answer gets a short explanation and the source page from your material, so you can reread the passage instead of guessing why you were wrong.
Is it free?
It is free to start. Free gives you about 4 materials a week. Upgrade to Pro for more.
