3. A paragraph reads: In its first year, the school's bike repair club fixed 140 bicycles for students who would otherwise have paid a shop. The writer wants to end the paragraph with a sentence that supports its point about saving students money. Which choice does that best?

Rhetorical skills questions are decided by the purpose stated in the question, not by which sentence sounds nicest. Only the first choice puts a number on the money saved, while the others are true sounding details that never touch cost.

Passage B: Taking out a dam is not stepping back, it is one more decision. Someone picks which structure goes, which floodplain gets bought, and who pays for it. Rivers do recover, but calling that recovery natural hides the engineering and the money behind it. Both authors would most likely agree that:

ACT er en flervalgsprøve bygget av fire fagområder: English, math, reading og science. Hva hver del spør om har vært stødigere enn tallene. English tester språkbruk og formalia, altså tegnsetting, grammatikk og setningsbygning, pluss retoriske ferdigheter, altså struktur, stil og om en setning i det hele tatt hører hjemme i avsnittet. Math strekker seg fra pre-algebra og enkel algebra gjennom koordinatgeometri, plangeometri og litt trigonometri. Reading bygger på tekster: hovedbudskap, støttende detaljer, slutninger, ord i kontekst, og spørsmål som sammenligner to tekster om samme tema. Science gir deg tabeller, grafer og konkurrerende forklaringer og ber deg lese dem.
Slik bruker du denne smakebiten
Disse 15 spørsmålene følger innholdsfordelingen i ACT i miniatyr. English får den største andelen fordi den har flest spørsmål på den ekte prøven, math kommer nest, og reading og science fyller resten. Den ekte ACT-en er flervalg fra start til slutt. Denne smakebiten bruker også velg alle som passer og fyll inn luken, fordi de formatene er vanskeligere å gjette seg gjennom, noe som gjør dem til en bedre sjekk på om du faktisk kan regelen.
Ta den i én økt uten notater og uten kalkulator. ACT belønner fart mer enn de fleste eksamener, og på det lange formatet ga den deg godt under ett minutt per spørsmål på flere av delene.
