1.Complete the sentence.
Under the standard Part 107 limits, a small drone may not exceed a groundspeed of _____ knots (100 miles per hour) or fly higher than _____ feet above ground level, unless it stays within a 400-foot radius of a structure.
Opzioni per lo spazio 1: 67, 87, 100, 120
Opzioni per lo spazio 2: 200, 300, 400, 500
Risposta: 87, 400
Section 107.51 caps groundspeed at 87 knots, which is the same as 100 miles per hour, so mixing up the units is a classic trap. It also caps altitude at 400 feet above ground level, except when the drone is within a 400-foot radius of a structure and no higher than 400 feet above that structure's uppermost limit.
2.A crewed helicopter flies toward the area where a small drone is operating. Under Part 107, which statement is correct?
- A. The helicopter must yield because the drone is smaller
- B. Whoever is at the lower altitude has the right of way
- C. The drone must yield the right of way and must not pass over, under or ahead of the helicopter unless well clear
- D. Right of way goes to whichever aircraft was in the area first
Risposta: C. The drone must yield the right of way and must not pass over, under or ahead of the helicopter unless well clear
Section 107.37 says a small unmanned aircraft must yield the right of way to all other aircraft, and that yielding means giving way and not passing over, under or ahead of the other aircraft unless well clear. Size, altitude and who arrived first do not change this. In practice, if a crewed aircraft appears, land or move away.
3.Which of these airspace areas can a remote pilot enter without first getting ATC authorization, assuming they stay within the standard Part 107 limits?
- A. Class D airspace
- B. The surface area of Class E airspace designated for an airport
- C. Class C airspace
- D. Class G airspace
Risposta: D. Class G airspace
Section 107.41 requires prior ATC authorization to fly in Class B, Class C or Class D airspace, or within the lateral boundaries of the surface area of Class E airspace designated for an airport. Class G is uncontrolled airspace, so no ATC authorization is needed there. You still have to follow every other rule, and temporary flight restrictions can apply anywhere.
4.Which situation makes fog or low cloud most likely to form?
- A. Temperature and dewpoint within about 4 degrees Fahrenheit of each other
- B. Temperature at least 30 degrees above the dewpoint
- C. Strong, gusty winds with a dry air mass
- D. A rising barometer with clear, dry skies
Risposta: A. Temperature and dewpoint within about 4 degrees Fahrenheit of each other
When the temperature and dewpoint are close, the air is nearly saturated, so a small drop in temperature can produce fog or low cloud. That often happens on clear, calm nights as the ground cools. A wide spread means dry air, and a dry air mass with strong wind mixes the air instead of letting fog form.
5.During a flight, a drone hits a parked car and the repair costs $1,800. Nobody is hurt. What does Part 107 require?
- A. Nothing, because no one was injured
- B. A report to the FAA no later than 10 calendar days after the flight
- C. A report to the FAA within 24 hours
- D. A report only if the drone itself was damaged
Risposta: B. A report to the FAA no later than 10 calendar days after the flight
Section 107.9 requires a report to the FAA within 10 calendar days of an operation involving serious injury, loss of consciousness, or damage to property other than the drone, unless the repair cost or fair market value is $500 or less. Here the car repair is above $500, so the report is required even though nobody was hurt.
6.A pilot mounts a payload so the center of gravity sits outside the limits the manufacturer allows. What is the most likely result?
- A. The drone becomes more efficient because it is heavier
- B. Flight time gets longer
- C. No effect, because the flight controller always compensates
- D. Stability and control get worse, and the motors work harder
Risposta: D. Stability and control get worse, and the motors work harder
A center of gravity outside the allowed range makes a drone harder to control and less stable, and the motors have to work harder to hold attitude. Extra weight also generally shortens flight time and reduces climb performance. A flight controller can only compensate within its design limits, which is why loading limits exist.
7.Complete the sentence.
Flight visibility must be at least _____ statute miles, and the drone must stay at least _____ feet below clouds and 2,000 feet horizontally from them.
Opzioni per lo spazio 1: 1, 3, 5, 10
Opzioni per lo spazio 2: 200, 500, 1,000, 2,000
Risposta: 3, 500
Section 107.51 sets minimum flight visibility at 3 statute miles, measured from the control station, and a cloud distance of 500 feet below and 2,000 feet horizontally. The 2,000 appears only in the horizontal figure, which is where candidates mix the numbers up.
8.Which of the following are classes of controlled airspace?
Seleziona tutte le risposte corrette.
- A. Class B
- B. Class G
- C. Class E
- D. Class D
Risposta: A. Class B, C. Class E, D. Class D
Classes A, B, C, D and E are controlled airspace in the United States. Class G is uncontrolled. Under Part 107, you need ATC authorization in Class B, C and D and in the surface area of Class E designated for an airport, but not in Class G.
9.A METAR reads KABC 211753Z 27012G20KT 10SM BKN025 18/09 A3001. What does BKN025 describe?
- A. A scattered layer at 25 feet above ground level
- B. An overcast ceiling at 25,000 feet
- C. A broken cloud layer at 2,500 feet above ground level
- D. A broken layer at 250 feet above sea level
Risposta: C. A broken cloud layer at 2,500 feet above ground level
In a METAR, BKN means broken, which is 5 to 7 eighths of the sky covered, and the three digits are the height in hundreds of feet above ground level, so 025 is 2,500 feet. Because the lowest broken or overcast layer is the ceiling, this report has a ceiling of 2,500 feet. The rest of the line says the time is 1753 UTC, the wind is from 270 degrees at 12 knots gusting to 20, visibility is 10 statute miles and the altimeter setting is 30.01.
10.A pilot says, "Those rules were written for beginners, and nobody tells me how to fly." Which hazardous attitude is this?
- A. Anti-authority
- B. Impulsivity
- C. Invulnerability
- D. Macho
Risposta: A. Anti-authority
Anti-authority is the attitude of resisting rules and instruction, and its antidote is to follow the rules, since they are usually right. Impulsivity is acting without thinking (not so fast, think first), invulnerability is believing it cannot happen to you (it could happen to me), and macho is trying to prove yourself (taking chances is foolish). The fifth, resignation, is feeling that nothing you do matters.
11.Which of the following does Part 107 require for a night operation?
Seleziona tutte le risposte corrette.
- A. Anti-collision lighting visible for at least 3 statute miles
- B. A remote pilot who completed the updated knowledge test or training taken after April 6, 2021
- C. A visual observer on the ground
- D. A transponder on the drone
- E. ATC permission for every night flight in every airspace
Risposta: A. Anti-collision lighting visible for at least 3 statute miles, B. A remote pilot who completed the updated knowledge test or training taken after April 6, 2021
Section 107.29 requires anti-collision lighting that is visible for at least 3 statute miles with a flash rate sufficient to avoid a collision, and a remote pilot who completed the initial knowledge test or training after April 6, 2021. A visual observer is not required for night flights, and a transponder is not required. ATC authorization depends on the airspace, not on the time of day.
12.Complete the sentence.
To act as remote pilot in command, a person must have passed the initial knowledge test or completed recurrent training within the previous _____ calendar months.
Opzioni per lo spazio 1: 12, 24, 36, 48
Risposta: 24
Section 107.65 sets aeronautical knowledge recency at 24 calendar months. The FAA offers the recurrent training as an online course and lists it at no cost. Letting it lapse means you cannot exercise the privileges of the certificate until you complete it.
13.A remote pilot uses the IMSAFE checklist before a flight. What does it help them assess?
- A. Whether the aircraft is airworthy
- B. Their own fitness to fly
- C. Whether the weather meets the minimums
- D. Which class of airspace they are in
Risposta: B. Their own fitness to fly
IMSAFE is a self-check for illness, medication, stress, alcohol, fatigue and emotion. It helps a pilot decide whether they are fit to fly, which matters because section 107.17 prohibits operating with a physical or mental condition that could interfere with safe operation. Aircraft condition, weather and airspace each have their own checks.
14.A wildfire response puts a temporary flight restriction over an area. Where would a remote pilot find it?
- A. The sectional chart legend
- B. A NOTAM
- C. The drone's user manual
- D. The aircraft registration record
Risposta: B. A NOTAM
Temporary flight restrictions are published through NOTAMs, and they can appear on short notice, so check them before every flight. A printed chart is only updated on a fixed cycle, and the user manual and registration record do not contain airspace restrictions at all.
15.Which conditions raise density altitude and reduce a drone's performance?
Seleziona tutte le risposte corrette.
- A. High field elevation
- B. High air temperature
- C. Low air temperature
- D. High humidity
- E. High barometric pressure
Risposta: A. High field elevation, B. High air temperature, D. High humidity
Density altitude is the altitude the aircraft behaves as if it were at, and it rises with high elevation, high temperature and high humidity, which all make the air less dense. Thinner air means less lift from the propellers, so the drone has to work harder and climbs and carries less. Low temperature and high pressure make air denser and lower the density altitude.
Poi impara i numeri, perché l'esame premia quelli esatti.
Come StudyPDF crea test completi dai tuoi materiali
Quindici domande possono mostrarti dove sei incerto.
Ultimo aggiornamento 19 agosto 2026.
Buono a sapersi
Posso avere altre domande come queste dai miei materiali?
